Junior Programmer

We’re hiring! Fox Byte Games is a growing studio with strong roots in Teesside. We’re looking for a junior programmer who would be working closely with our existing programming team on a variety of exciting projects. We work closely with a lot of companies in the area and have worked on a large number of projects each presenting its own unique challenges. We also have our own internal IP currently in the very early stages which you’ll find plenty of opportunities to work on.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience creating gameplay using current generation game engines (Unity and Unreal Engine)
  • Experience in relevant programming languages
    - C#
    - C++
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Good personal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Knowledge of what goes into optimised code and debugging
  • Adaptability, willingness and ability to jump between projects and try new things
  • Keen to learn and grow

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple platforms and technologies (not required)
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Work closely with other artists across multiple departments and studios

Qualifications

Either:

  • A degree in Games Programming, Computer Science or similar
  • Relevant experience both professionally and in personal or open source projects

  • Any other game or software development skills, we're a small company so any ability to fulfill multiple roles is an incredibly useful skill
